Printmaking

Starting August 30th, I began Printmaking I and Photography. These were not classes I wanted to take, but for graduating, they were necessary. This is the first Relief Print I have made and it is supposed to be a positive and a negative of the same object. I found that the wood of the block we carved out of splinters easily. The dark outline of the tree did not have stain, so the splintering was harsh and difficult to control. The light outline of the tree was easier to carve. One, because I put a stain (I think) on the board and two, because it was easier to see the image when carving on a dark board.
For photography we are working with a wide aperture, and 4 photos are due tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get those printed before tomorrow.
